This is the comm for the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry game, through which we'll post updates on things like special events etc. Here's a brief intro to how the game is going to work:
Players needed
We're looking for original characters, so unfetter your imaginations!
Logistics
It's going to be played via meebo chatrooms. It takes maybe five seconds to sign up for meebo. There will be the usual four houses, and although we're technically mods, we're not going to dictate the game. There aren't going to be regular lessons or professors either, due to time and manpower issues, unless the game becomes popular enough.
After we've gotten all the players, we'll sort them into houses and -- based on their stated preferences -- arrange some starting backgrounds (friends, rivals, enemies, etc), to get the game going.
More details will be sent out to players later on.
Why Meebo?
I wish we were getting money to endorse them but we aren't. We think that forums are too plodding, many separate LJs are a real pain to keep up with, and we don't want to download IRC. One advantage is that we can have real-time interactions and other fun things like that, without having to refresh. The disadvantage is that we'll need players to be from similar time zones, so that we can arrange some convenient time for meetings later on. So, this is not going to be a large game.
How to join
No writing sample needed! All you have to do is fill in this form for sorting and wand assignment, and we promise to get back to you as soon as possible.
When do applications close?
They'll only close when we have enough players. Our current goal is 30-40 people.
